WATER FRIENDLY
Freestate was designed to feel at home both on land and in water : the great breathing system of the shoes allows to speed up the drying process. You won’t even notice they were wet !
ANTI-SLIP TECHNOLOGY
With Freestate, you can wear your shoes from the pool to the bar without having to stress out about slipping : our shoes are made with the latest anti-slip technology for your own safety. Instead of having to change shoes all the time, you will now have more time for mojitos with your friends. Cheers !

ULTRA-LIGHT
We chose exclusively light materials to help speeding up the drying process and to allow your foot to feel free and flexible while remaining cool and light at any temperature. Freestate only weighs 200g, which is less than a french baguette !
QUICK-DRYING
Freestate is composed by a lot of small holes that allows them to dry much faster than regular sneakers. That’s the secret of our every day shoe : the air is constantly renewed inside the shoes which allows them to stay light in and out of the water.

Inspired by classic sneakers with an ultra-clean profile, Freestate is available in both classic and vibrant colors, including Jet black, Splitsun yellow, Pristine white, Military green, Holiday blue, Vacation pink, Midnight navy and Steel grey.
MACHINE WASHABLE
If your shoes get dirty on your adventures, you can always throw them in the washing machine at 30 degrees and they will come out fresh as new and ready for new adventures !

Our team of industry professionals have been working for nearly 2 years on the Freeflow Breathing, which is a lining and insole system that allows the foot to breathe; this unique lining design allows for maximum air flow around the foot.

Our Brand
Ten Thousand Islands is a new sneaker brand from Manchester, launching in 2019. Our team has over 20 years of experience in developing and manufacturing shoes for numerous brands.
We have been really busy developing our first sneakers « Freestate » : water-friendly travel shoes that can be worn every day !
Our ambition
Freestate are shoes created for hot summer days and cool summer nights.
You can wear Freestate in and out of the water, it is quick drying, ultra-lightweight, created to fit each foot’s shape and smart enough for any occasion.
Our inspiration
We give the upmost importance to our origins, in fact we hold them dear. You can always find something to do in Manchester, whether you just want to contemplate art in the Richard Goodall Gallery or just go for a drink : the choice is endless.
One of our greatest inspirations when we created Freestate was, you guessed it, the climate of Manchester. It is so changing, so diverse that it made us wonder : what if we could create a sneaker that could be used in any circumstance ?
